‘Tis better to have loved and lost...

"How wrong it is for a woman to expect the man to build the world she wants, rather than to create it herself."
- Anais Nin (1903-1977)
"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work."
- Thomas Alva Edison (1847-1931)
"Blessed is the man, who having nothing to say, abstains from giving wordy evidence of the fact."
- George Eliot (1819-1880)

Oh what a wonderful weather we have been having these past few days…
The rain, the rain, the rain and (it would have been nicer if we had) more rain. It gets rid of all that irritating haze and makes for such nice ambience to sleep no?
Darn!
Now I want to go make nice with my pillows… shoot!
-hysterical laughter-

I have been studying, or rather, trying to.
Somehow, my body refuses to cooperate with my good intentions.
I wanted to study in the morning, but my body got burnt out so I ended up sleeping on Wednesday. I slept until I missed out on my time slot for SIM TKD.
Studied with Yueling.
Good thing I got her to study with. If not I would probably get nothing done academically for the entire day. Bleah, bleah and more bleah~
But I did manage to haul my bum down for training at Kovan, which is more than I could have hoped for… considering how bleah my body was…

My late nights have taken a toll on my body and mental health… I am starting to have weird dreams and please don get me started on the other weirdo stuff which has been zooming around… *faints*

“I hold it true, whate’er befall;
I feel it, when I sorrow most;
‘Tis better to have loved and lost
Than never to have loved at all.”
~ In Memoriam 27 (1850) : Alfred Lord Tennyson

Ah… so deep the poem does go… what are you’re thoughts guys?
Care to share?

Worse yet… my phone cover scratched yesterday… the freaking line is LONG and DEEP…
-hits head against wall-
And today also kanna scratched again! ARGH~!
Crap lor… I really wanna buy a new cover but… money no enough… sianz… have to wait… my poor phone… how you have suffered… I don understand why that when I try so hard to keep it from getting spoilt, I end up whacking it more instead… why?!

I heart Cello music

"If you can count your money, you don't have a billion dollars."
- J. Paul Getty (1892-1976)
"Facts are the enemy of truth."
- Don Quixote - "Man of La Mancha"
"When you do the common things in life in an uncommon way, you will command the attention of the world."
- George Washington Carver (1864-1943)

Hope everyone enjoyed their public holidays so far :)
Well deserved breaks aye?

Finally got my nails done on Friday.
What a relief… now they are some what more even and nicer looking… haha.. but sadly, they are now kinda chipped coz ben xiao jie is chor lor… trying my best to not be so rough… key word: Trying. ;p

Saturday was spent doing poomsae, unarmed combat and non-contact sparring… as well as chilling… heh… spent more than half the day outside with Yueling lor… haha… no mean feat… morning’s poomsae was done at the park…
Imagine the motorcycle and bicycle parked in the middle of nowhere…
-hystrical laughter-

Noah Korkor’s BIG DAY~
And what a day it was… from the gathering for the tea ceremony to the dinner at Ritz Carlton.
Wow, all pomp and circumstance.
I feel the most intimate portion of the day was the wedding ceremony… with close friends and relatives gathered to mark the occasion.
The dinner was good, the food of a 6 Star Hotel… made many trips to the rest room… coz too much drinking was done, all those yum sengs… hahahaha~
I made a new friend :)
The flower girl!
Hehe… so adorable!
Her name’s Amanda and she’s the daughter of my Cousins’ colleague.
Total sweetie.
Full of energy and bright too.
4 years of age niah… sure next time grow up to be the school bell ;)
I took care of her for the better part of the evening, walking around the lobby with her and taking pictures like a nut case… my dear girl even took a liking to using my camera… kept asking me to let her use it to take pictures (which of course I let her do)… hehe~
Will be uploading the pictures soon… have to find a way to get her the pictures she took… haha… wonder when I will see her again…

J Kor!
I pass you the pictures when you come online!
:D

I also carried my niece quite a bit that evening… she’s a big baby … literally, but she is very guai… din cry and so happy … well, most of the time anyway… hehe~
I suppose I will not be seeing my relatives until the next reunion dinner… or Chinese New Year…

Needless to say, I drank at the wedding, thank goodness Korkor drove us home… and as a result, my Monday was spent in a haze of daze in lectures…
Worse full day of lectures I have ever had in my 3 years of study at SIM!
-hits head against wall-
I had to walk out of both lectures to wash my face coz I was constantly nodding off… horrible experience and I have a sinking feeling that the same thing might happen again next Monday X.xlll
Contemplated the entire day about whether I should go for training or not… ended up going…
Would you expect anything less?
The TKD junkie in me would not say don go… and as Jake said:
If you are not sure about whether to go for training or not… just go!
Hooooo~~~~

Ended up at Whampoa training with Yueling and Bernard.
Wanted to train again today coz last night not enough ‘kick’ but… it was not meant to be… gah… train at home ba… have to be more alert… so many things need to be managed and tweaked… it can be very headachy ….
-battle cry-
IT CAN BE DONE!
:)

Winnie lent me her Goong Ost… I am so in love with it!
The cello music simply wonderful man~
Thanks Winnie! :D

Yueling~
Wednesday we on for training yes?
Wanna meet earlier?
Hehe… I need study partner…
We can start the poomsae earlier too… hopefully my dobok will dry in time… if not have to wear half again…
-psychotic laughter-

ok… my list is calling me… hahaha~
*hugs*

my Hours

"I'm all in favor of keeping dangerous weapons out of the hands of fools. Let's start with typewriters."
- Frank Lloyd Wright (1868-1959)
"Some cause happiness wherever they go; others, whenever they go."
- Oscar Wilde (1854-1900)
"I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them."
- Ian L. Fleming (1908-1964)

Thanks in part to Swee Shoon, I am now the proud owner of:
CSI Season 5
Goong
X-men 3
-does dance of joy-
I spent a bomb and a half when I went to buy those vcds, partly coz I went on an errand run and bought a truck load of other things as well… my poor purse… how you must be hurting…

Yo Yang Mui~
I got VCD! Haha… I still don have a DVD player lah… what to do? Have to settle for the Chinese subtitles… but does your DVD edition have English subtitles?

Adelyn!
Goong got nice looking guys! Albeit they are a tad too bamboo-ish for my taste…
-migumi laughter-

I got burnt out last week and this week.
My body at times refused to get up and do what my mind wanted it to.
Sian-Central.
But the sleep that I had in the end was good. I hope the sleep bank was satisfied with my deposits. :p

Do I need to say how much I dislike the haze?
I guess whining about it would not change the Psi level aye?
But the fact is that we are all affected by it… I feel like a smoker lor~
*pui-pui*
I was coughing quite a bit during the prayer meeting last night… shesh…

Studies are en track to getting back on the track… this year’s modules are not to be played with… as it is, I am starting to get sick of MSM… can not let the bug get to me… it would be disastrous!
-runs round the house mad-

We’re all getting ready for the wedding on Sunday.
Noah Korkor’s big day.
Wow… it’s gonna be interesting… that is for certain… can’t wait to get my nails done, the length is irritating the hack out of me… I can’t type properly lor!
Stupid extra sound that comes with pressing the keys of both my keyboard and piano… oh how I enjoy having short nails…so many benefits…
Hahahhaa~

I will be missing training quite a few times over the next 2 week… I foresee that coming to pass. Because why?
There are so many reasons… I need to re-evaluate my goals for the semester… Dad commented last night that I should have gone for my driving instead of taking the power boat course last year… that very one which I don’t exactly intend to get my license for anymore (depending on the rules of the marina barrage).
Time constraints, issues to work out, stuff to settle and goals to commit to.
What do I really want?
At the end of the day, it is what I do with the time that God has placed in my hands that really matters… my calling in His Kingdom also has to take a higher priority… but what if I am losing my way?
-hits head against the wall-
No bed of roses… just a perfect promise from above… cling cling cling!

My list for today is getting longer by the minute…
Oh nooes…
Laters~

Princess Sharon

“I hate the way you talk to me, and the way you cut your hair.
I hate the way you drive my car.
I hate it when you stare.
I hate your big dumb combat boots, and the way you read my mind.
I hate you so much it makes me sick; it even makes me rhyme.
I hate the way you're always right.
I hate it when you lie.
I hate it when you make me laugh, even worse when you make me cry.
I hate it when you're not around, and the fact that you didn't call.
But mostly I hate the way I don't hate you. Not even close, not even a little bit, not even at all.”
~ Kat's 10 Things I Hate about You

It’s funny that you only realise how much you miss someone when you finally meet up, or run into one another.
There are so many things you want to say but in the end, the feeling of being with one another is all that matters.
Erm… don read into that too much ok? ;p

Ah, another week has passed…
The grading format has changed once more and I had to spend my time sitting at the gallery seats instead of my usual place… *sianz*
But it was nice to have more people around on that day, what’s more, I even managed to get my shopping done!
Hehe… bought me a new dress for the wedding :) Eileen’s my lucky star! THANKS GIRL~!
Sadly the haze was the downer of the day. I went home with a totally red eye. Yuck, yuck, triple yuck and YUCK. I hate having red eyes… itichy and scary at the same time, and God knows I look like some kind of vampire~
Then again, I have had my share of vampire dreams…
-migumi laughter-
back to my dress… I love it! First time I buy something like that ok!
-does dance of joy-

Sunday, went to church, went home, went to TPY, went home, went to training, went to CP, went to Sean’s house.
I went to a lot of places…
Church service was ok, but I got a sms from someone that day that kinda got me a bit worked up… all’s said and done, everything will be ok in the end…
TPY: The class at the CC: hwah! Air-con ah~
And I made a new friend J
Hi See Hwa~!
Once class was over, I met up with Swee Shoon. Got me a new pair of slippers… hehehe… I seem to be shopping a lot these days aye?
-psychotic laughter-
Kovan class full of picture taking, went to Compass Point to help with a present search… oh well~
Sean’s house was happening that evening man! So much food and so many people… haha… a lot of scandles as well… but that kinda goes without saying right?
-more psychotic laughter-
played mah jong with Alan, Arthur and Daphne before heading home around midnight… and since we walked, we did not have to worry about mice and pumpkins :p
Good thing I did not have ESAP on Monday, coz I was way more bonked out than I had expected, then again, I thought that I would sleep more, but I did not.. oh well~
MSM lecture was the usual bore and head banging on the lecture table experience, but this time, the after lecture thing calls for more hardwork, THE TUTORIAL IS DUE THIS COMING MONDAY!!!!
-runs mad around the house-
Some thing drastic needs to be done about my study habits… I haven been studying enough… and all those texts are just sitting there waiting for me to tear my way through them… why would I want to keep them in suspense?
-hysterical laughter-
Its just a matter of getting myself to abnegate I suppose… sianz… no choice! Have to abnegate real soon… argh~~~

Training went pass in a blur, I had wanted to go home, but I stayed anyway… bring all my stuff and don train = brain a bit the haywire… right?
Trained, teach, eat and go home.
By the time I go home, half whacked out but I still went online…
Suffered on Tuesday as a result.
Then again, the whole class was dedicated to method of differentiation and integration which I am already familiar with… which does not give me any excuse to not practice… -.-lll
And I have yet to do the MM assignment!
Nooooooooo~~~~~~~

I got home from school, started feeling sick and was very relieved that cell group got cancelled for the evening… the freaking haze was driving me nuts again… shesh~
I seriously can not stand the things that happen whenever there is haze around… inability to breathe and blackouts… yuck, yuck, triple yuck and YUCK!
The upside to staying at home that evening was that I was able to watch the 2nd episode of Princess Hours (aka Goong)!!!!
-screams in delight-

Wednesday morning, went to the market with TKM and YKM… but started feeling unwell so had to go home earlier than the two of them… I totally concussed when I got to my room. Bleah… made it to SIM in time for training though… yet another blur of activity… went down to Kovan only to find that they changed the venue… haha… and See Hwa made it for training!
-does dance of joy-
Yue ling cycled her spanking new bike down and bounced it to the kopi tiam for dinner… hahaha…

Thursday corporate finance lecture… fruitful… but remains to be seen if I will do my follow-up… missing out on those since I started attending those lectures… hahahaha… ran my errands, from Clementi to Kovan. Ran into: Yingying, Mr. and Mrs. Chow and Lawrence along the way… qiao right?!
Anyway… I was on a mission… scouting the prices of VCDs which I have my eye on… my wallet is going to suffer, but hey! Its gonna be worth it :D

Titles I am searching for:
Princess Hours Series box set
CSI Season 5
Dragon Tiger Gate
The Lake House
Il Mare
*more will come to mind in time*
-hysterical laughter-

Going gaga over Princess Hours… ah~... Been a long time since I was this captured by a television series… its Korean some more! Heehooo… It will be my first Korean box set… hahahaha…. And I love the theme song~

Ok... think I have done enough damage to the keyboard for now… hehe… time to prepare for the week ahead… going to be madness … hahha… isn’t it always?

^-^

Cross

"If you are going through hell, keep going."
- Sir Winston Churchill (1874-1965)
"He who has a 'why' to live, can bear with almost any 'how'."
- Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900)
"Many wealthy people are little more than janitors of their possessions."
- Frank Lloyd Wright (1868-1959)

Let’s see…
Did not attend SIM training on Wednesday in favor of doing my MM revision questions… oh how I enjoy doing math questions which I can handle -.-lll
-psychotic laughter-
but, I did attend the session at Kovan.
How can don’t go? :p
Jared made a come back.
Hwah… he’s put on weight lor… looks like all that eating finally got to his body…

Thursday,
CF lecture – study in the library – ESAP lecture.
Long but productive day.
I got my notes written. But the jokes of the day came mainly from the CF lecture… I don think I wanna repeat them, I’ve got an image to protect…
-thinks for a bit-
er… what image… hahaha… I am still not saying ;p
I can’t believe I made it all the way home lor…
Was so wasted by the time I put my head on the pillow that I comatose till eleven today, and then fell back to sleep till 5pm… hehehe~

Basically, most of my today was spent in the bed… my body completely gave up on me, so I had to sleep.
The sleep bank really forced the collection today. Not like that’s a bad thing anyway ;)
And you know what?
I am still tired... means I still owe the sleep bank no?
-runs round the house mad-

A while back, Reuben bluetoothed me a mp3.
It was not in English, but it was powerful.
Caught by the tune and the singing.
This is the original version:

At The Cross
Darlene Zschech, Reuben Morgan

Verse 1:
Oh Lord You’ve searched me,
You know my way;
Even when I fail You,
I know You love me.

Verse 2:
Your holy presence
Surrounding me
In every season,
I know You love me;
I know You love me.

Chorus:
At the cross I bow my knee,
Where Your blood was shed for me,
There’s no greater love than this.
You have overcome the grave,
Your glory fills the highest place,
What can separate me now?

Verse 3:
You go before me,
You shield my way,
Your hand upholds me;
I know You love me.

Verse 4:
And when the earth fades,
Falls from my eyes,
And You stand before me,
I know You love me;
I know You love me.

Bridge:
You tore the veil, You made a way
When You said that it is done.

I was so touched by the words, that I got the whole score printed.
Now learning to play it on the piano.
And I will be leading it for P&W on Sunday at BCM!
-does dance of joy-
Praise the Lord!
-continues dancing-

Haze, haze and now, more HAZE.
I hate the haze…
The smell, the thick air and the sensations in my chest, which comes with breathing…
Fainting spells and blacking out…
Sleeping is not as fun, coz I know I would be breathing in all that crap.
Yes, my room is non air-conditioned… how to sleep tonight?!
Shesh… x.xlll
I really hope it rains soon… den some of the haze will get washed away… rain big big is better :)

ALL THE BEST FOR YOUR GRADINGS TOMORROW SEAN AND HAKIM~!
-waves pompoms-
I’ll be there to lend moral support… hehe~

ALL THE BEST FOR YOUR PAPER SHOON~!
I will be with you in spirit!
I know you will do well one~! :D

Here’s to a blessed tomorrow:
CHEERS!

In the Tay Library

If you can't say anything good about someone, sit right here by me.
Alice Roosevelt Longworth (1884 - 1980)

First love is a kind of vaccination which saves a man from catching the complaint a second time.
Honore de Balzac (1799 - 1850)

Ah, the smell of my dear SIM campus… nothing really comes close to being in school for more than 12 hours at a stretch… which is exactly what the hack I am doing now… shesh… the fact that I am in school at the moment should be a testament to how studious I am right?

I am currently using the MSN function on this laptop and trying to get this entry written before I have to return the laptop or else have to pay the blardy fine of 2 bucks per donno how many minutes… freak lor… madness and capitalism all rolled into one and in the wrong package some more~

Anyway… I do enjoy typing and writing … which is probably why I decided to stay in school to study today instead of wondering around orchard Road to wait for my ESAP lecture to start… which reminds me… I only have one day to get my new stances right… regarding the modified poomsaes…
-runs round the library in stressed out madness-
yeah… no link… hehe… I realized that… hahahhaha….

Okok… time to return the laptop…

Cheers~

Runaway

"Talent does what it can; genius does what it must."
- Edward George Bulwer-Lytton (1803-1873)
"The difference between 'involvement' and 'commitment' is like an eggs-and-ham breakfast: the chicken was 'involved' - the pig was 'committed'."
- unknown
"Women might be able to fake orgasms. But men can fake a whole relationship."
- Sharon Stone

Friday morning went swimming with Yue Ling.
Poor Yue Ling's shoulder tio tai ji again... Praying it recovers soon man... cracking consistantly is a big No No...
Had branch at Yong’s.
Met up with Adelyn.
Went back to SRJC to visit.
Hung out.
Bought me a new pair of flip-flops and a new comb. :)
Retail therapy. Good for my feet and hair… hahahha…
Let my head hit the pillows as soon as my hair had dried.
Woke up for dinner and rotted in front of the computer… hahaha… went out for a while to pei Winnie plus do some CC searching… heh~

Saturday morning went swimming alone.
Met up with Bernard and Alfred.
Bernard was training Alfred in his 2.4km.
I am so happy I don’t have to take NAPFA any more ;)
Not that I don’t welcome the challenge, I’m just not keen on pounding my knees into the ground again… not now anyway…
Proceeded to Hougang Mall for LJS.
Walked around while the rain hit the ground on the outside.
Went home to prepare for the AGM at WWS.
But I headed to International Plaza before that to pass Daniel Korkor and Yingz some stuff first.
So long never see them lor~!
The meeting brought the members together, so nice to see familiar faces… hahah…
Brought Shoon to Ting Fong on the way home.
I have a feeling that we pissed the people off, coz we went in around 7 and left at 7.20pm odd without buying anything and the shop was supposed to be closed at 7pm… o.olll
30-09-2006 thus passed… nice numbers aye?

Children’s Day~!
Twas’ a good day for my church kids.
They had the opportunity to play in house games the whole session through plus!
The gifts were so interesting lor…
I didn’y stay for the second service, was too zonked out from the night before, so I headed home to sleep and then got my work done in preparation for Monday. After which, I headed to Heartland Mall to buy mush mellows for my kids at the CC. Got there early to help Hakim and Jabba with their patterns.
Got home in time for dinner and the mad rush to prepare for Monday’s full day of school.

Monday morning was a partial disaster, but I made it to school in time.
Survived the ESAP lecture only to find out, or rather confirm, that there is a make-up lecture on Thursday evening.
-hits head against wall-
But the lecture was eventful.
I completed the test, which I had tried and kinda failed to study for.
Learnt that:
Alfred means: Councilor.
Bernard means: Brave as a bear.
Now I want to find out what my name means…
MSM lecture was another headache.
But good thing got Eddie around, if not I would have just slept though the boring parts of the planning issues, which we’re supposed to take into consideration.
-pinches self to wake self up-
Training was a pain.
My knee was giving me problems again.
Hurting like a B*tch is not a good thing, especially when my goal requires a whole of legwork.
-screams in agony-
Whampoa was slightly better. Helped out with the class before heading for dinner.
I guess I have to put my back into getting my body and mind ready for my own test.
Though I seriously have no idea when it will be.
Got home and my wet hair kept me up till it was time to really turn in.
Of course, not before I had everything ready for the next day. ;)

Morning of Tuesday, MM lecture.
Ah~
Breath of fresh air.
I love doing mathematics that I can grasp.
-hysterical laughter-
I was very cold during the lecture though. Good thing I brought my shawl to school. The fact that I was cold was kinda weird to me… God knows why though… hmmm…
Went back with E.T. and bought lunch for TKM at the same time.
Totally knocked out once I finished lunch and let my head touch the pillow.
Made for the Serangoon swimming complex with Huifen to swim when I woke up.
Headed to Kovan for dinner with AnB+SaF.
Yeah, we got codes now… hahaha…
Ran into Elaine, whom I have not seen in months.
Did the catching up and walking round Kovan before heading home and plopping my bum in front of the computer and now I find myself still typing …
-faints-

Haiz… I find that life is getting more and more complex.
This can do, that cannot do.
Freakingly irritating.
Have to make changes here and there.
Pick and switch, match and throw.
From the east to the west.
Knowledge is not necessarily power you know…
Thinking too much is not good either… hahaha… the circle never stops and the headaches will keep coming…
Thank God for God. :D

Runaway - The Corrs

Say it's true, there's nothing like me and you,
I'm not alone, tell me you feel it too,
And I would runaway,
I would runaway, yeah, yeah,
I would runaway,
I would runaway with you,

Cause I have fallen in love,
With you, no never have,
I'm never gonna stop fallin' in love, with you,

Close the door, lay down upon the floor,
And by candlelight, candlelight make love to me through the night,
through the night, through the night,
'Cause I have runaway,
I have runaway, yeah, yeah,
I have runaway, runaway,
I have runaway with you,

'Cause I have fallen in love, fallen in love,
With you, no never oh, oh,
I'm never gonna stop fallin' in love, with you, With you,

And I would runaway,
I would runaway, yeah, yeah,
I would runaway, runaway,
I would runaway hey with you,

Cause I have, have fallen in love, fallen in love,
With you, no never oh, oh,
I'm never gonna stop fallin' in love, with you,

Fallen in love fallen in love
With you, no never have
I'm never gonna stop fallin' in love, with you

With you, my love,
With you, with you, with you, with you,

This song came out more than 7 years ago if I am not wrong, and I still love it to bits.
Coolest team of siblings around man~
-waves light sticks-

Hey Shoon~!
When are you updating your blog?
Right after the projects aye?
I await your update with baited breath…
All the best to your members for Sunday~! :)

Time to koon…
Have to do my homework in the morning… and I am looking forward to it… wow…
Cheers~!
